The models detailed below (Classic 28, Endura 30, Endura 36) are all primarily for use as a means of propulsion for 12-16ft fishing or tender boats. They make an excellent replacement for a small outboard and will allow you to enjoy the waterways in peace and quiet.

The Minn Kota range are designed to run off suitable deep cycle leisure batteries. A deep cycle battery is engineered to withstand full discharge without damage, and to provide a consistent level of 12v power discharge to allow you to get the most out of your electric outboard (or other 12v appliance). How long the battery will last is directly proportional to the speed you are running the motor at, a good tip is to take two small batteries rather than one large one, then at least you know you should be able to make the return journey if you are caught unawares!.
